TYPES OF MOUNTS: Inside mounted shades will have approximately a 1/4" deduction to ensure a proper fit inside the window frame. A minimum frame depth of 2.5 inches is required for secure installation. If your window frame depth is less than 2.5 inches, consider selecting outside mount shades. Outside mounted shades should be ordered with the exact width of the area you wish to cover. This option is often used when there is not enough frame depth for inside mounting. Our shades come with all necessary mounting hardware for both inside and outside mounts.

INSIDE MOUNT MEASUREMENTS: Step 1: Measure the inside frame width at three locations - the top, middle, and bottom. Record the smallest of the three measurements and deduct 1/4 inch to determine the inside width when ordering. Step 2: Measure the height at three locations - the left, middle, and right side. Record the smallest measurement to determine the height when ordering.

OUTSIDE MOUNT MEASUREMENTS: Step 1: Measure the outside frame width and add 6-10 inches for the outside mount width. Step 2: Measure the outside frame length and add 5-10 inches for the outside mount length. The overlap is recommended to ensure proper coverage and avoid gaps in light.

INSIDE MOUNT GUIDELINES: The shade width should be 1/4" less than the window width for inside mount. The size you order is the shade size, not the window size, and no deduction will be taken. The minimum depth for inside mount is 2.5". Note that the width includes brackets that take up 0.75" on each side, resulting in the fabric width being at least 1.5" smaller overall.

OUTSIDE MOUNT GUIDELINES: The shade width should be 3-6" wider than the window width, and the length should be 8-10" longer for optimal coverage. Our shades are suitable for both inside and outside mounts, but precise measurements are crucial. Be sure to refer to the mounting type and measurement information before placing your order.
